Change to Ubuntu 9.10 from Debian 5.0.
Didn't expect to be so much trouble.
First, the network really gave a hard time. Since I changed my motherboard couple of weeks ago. I have to modify my MAC so that I can connect to the Internet. Certainly, doing this kind of things would require root privilege, but the installing never queried me for root password. After a few googling, the answer came up:
sudo passwd root
That would do the trick;
Second, adobe flash player, SJTU's network is so bad that downloading a 3.7 megabytes software would require a whole hour.
