btw, Alfred Brendel's version of Haydn Piano Sonatas is DIVINE! with pt, everything comes in the speed of Mega. Hopefully, with our fellow students' hardwork, we'll experience Giga-flow in a short time.
and, let's talk about some problems.
first (or, second, to be more consistent): life is full of compromise.
i.e. compromise of status quo and dream.
e.g. even though i don't have a clear dream (something like proving the Goldbach's Conjecture), i have the vague idea that a man should have something to live for. something high, something not so shallow as tomorrow's bacon and egg breakfast or something like a vintage Porsche (but i really like them). in other words, a man shouldn't work solely for bread, he (or she) should have some kind of passion for the job he (or she) does.
that's what i mean.
take the case of my gradschool application.
there's a piece of paper that all applicants are supposed to hand in, and this is suppose to be the single hardest paper oneman ever written. that thing is called Statement of Purpose.
but how can i write it without a clear purpose.
i have a purpose, that is to get out of this shithole, and have a decent human life on this earth and hopefully make more than a little money to make life a lot more easier.
this is clearly not a purpose the admission committee would like to see, i think they are hoping for sth like that Goldbach one.
the fact that i'm more into the idea of being a scientist than pursue some scientific goal hit me in the stomach.
I AM NOT SUIT FOR A SCIENTIST, AND I WON'T BE ONE.
that's almost it.
second, (or third, to be consistent about the consistence)
this problem is simply that, my application deadlines are drawing near. and i am absolutely one-hundred percent unprepared.
third, (you-know-the-routine)
i miss my mom, but all the things are keeping me here at minhang.
Jinkestu is leaving, following his destiny (somehow sounds like starwar shit).
Destiny, that's another topic, which will be discussed in future.
Here, i just thought, it will be funny to latex all these posts into a big book with clever elegant cross-reference that jump from one place to one place, from one time to another.
talking of latex, i'm really have a nerd/geek DNA programed in. Or it just because the love of beaury? (haha, Problem four).
Here it is, back to paper writing. (CVPR, i'm working on two most important/difficult papers at the same time).
And, it's really really really cold here.
Should brought a whiskey here, so it can make everything more Irish, and in that case, warmer.
